Short History of San Jose Sharks Hockey Team

San Jose Sharks is one of the professional ice hockey team all around the world. This is located in San Jose, California United States. They are one of the members of Pacific Division in the Western Conference of National Hockey League (NHL).

In the first two seasons of the team, they experienced playing in Cow Palace located in Daly City just situated outside of San Francisco. Pat Falloon was the first drafted choice enables to lead the team with points during the first season. The first coach of the team is George Kingston that last until the second season. In 1991-1992  the team’s roster consist of primarily the NHL journeyman, rookies and minor leaguers, the team gained at least one of the notable player by the time they acquire the 14 years old veteran and previously the winning defenseman of Norris-Trophy known to be Doug Wilson on September 6, 1991 from Chicago Blackhawks. Wilson proclaimed to be the first captain of the team and representative of the all-star season of the inaugural. Thus, the first two seasons of San Jose Sharks witness the typical difficulties in expansion of the team. Their 71 losses in the year 1992-1993 became a record breaking in NHL. The team also suffered a streak losing game of 17 while gaining a won in just 11 games with an earning of just 24 points with the standing. Kingston was terminated at the end of the season in 1992-1993.

Within the previous two decades, San Jose Sharks positioned themselves to be one of the premier franchises in the National Hockey League. By the time of the new millennium, ths team experienced 3 Finals in the Western Conference and won President’s Trophy in the year of 2008-2009 and eventually captured the six Championship of the Pacific Division. In the first 20 years of the team, they have been in the post season for 14 times. There is only one team who achieved more points over the Sharks team.
